I do not recommend Journey. They did not follow the building codes. When the building inspector came out the first time, he told them what needed to be done. The roofer ignored the instructions and continued to put the asphalt shingles on without any corrections. Now the inspector came back for a second inspection. He did not approve the roof and told Journey that they had to remove the whole roof. Journey used staples instead of roofing nails. The owner of Journey did not oversee any of the installation. How can you rate the quality immediately? It is supposed to be 50year guarantee so that is not a fair question. Do I know if there are problems in 10,15 or 20 years time? Time will tell!
Unsupervised labor, very poorly done. They told us if there was a problem, that they would take care of it. We gave them an opportunity and that never happened. They said they would come back to fix it to our satisfaction but never showed up and stopped communication.
Please do not use this company. A 4 day project took 4 weeks. the city inspectors would not approve / pass the job and came back 7 times due to poor craftsmanship and installation. They out source all their work to other roofing companies, and broke promises to us countless times on quality and deadlines. They installed over 20 broken shingles and told us that it was normal, nothing to worry about. We had two contractor friends walk the roof and they both said they would have them pull it off and reinstall a whole new roof.
The work that the actual crew did I am happy with my roof is nice, anything other than that I will not recommend this company to someone else.
